There are too many horrific accidents involving horses being ridden on the road and vehicles many of which result in the death of the horse and long term, life changing injuries for the rider both physical and physiological. The majority of these could be prevented through education.
There is an e-petition on HM Government website calling for a new THINK HORSE television advert and a compulsory section in the UK Driving Test to educate drivers and other road users on how a horse can react and the damage it can do to people, cars, the rider and itself through careless driving.
